Woman Full of Wonder

Wonder Woman is described as a powerful, strong-willed character who does not back down from a fight or a challenge. Yet, she is a diplomat who strongly believes the pen is mightier than the sword; a lover of peace who would never seek to fight or escalate a conflict. She’s simultaneously both the most fierce and most nurturing member of the Justice League. So, what makes up her wonder?

She was created with and on purpose.

In the movie, Zeus created her as a weapon to fight the god of war. She was created as a solution—designed by “god” and fashioned for her purpose—to be a god killer—to wield the Sword of Athena.

She had weapons and stewarded them well.

The different weapons served to fight different enemies. She put in the work. She studied and prepped and by the time she got out into the world she could walk confidently knowing she had prepared. She also embraced the women around her and realized they sharpened her for good.

She served her purpose.

Wonder Woman stood up for justice and she would not back down. She saw a need, had urgency, and made it right. She is not unafraid, she is courageous. She is stirred by injustice and compassion but she is empowered and strengthened by love and sacrifice. She realizes that the bullets can hit her but they cannot hurt her. This only makes her bolder.

I believe we are more alike Wonder Woman than we think.

However, what makes us wonder women is not that we carry a lasso or wear a cape; but that we are full of the wonder of God.

We have been created with Purpose.

I love how Lisa Bevere says “women were created as a solution.” We have been created for divine Kingdom appointments that can only be accomplished with Holy Spirit power.

We need to rise up and refuse to stay in the trenches allowing the enemy to take over and cover us. We are called to take ground, to conquer and be victorious. We need to refuse to stay the in the trenches waiting to be defeated. We already know we are not going down. We may fall but we are not staying there. Wonder woman got out because she knew she had the weapons to fight whatever was coming against her. She knew she was going to win and we have that same promise in Jesus.

We have been given a full armor and different gifts to serve our purpose uniquely, boldly and well.

In Ephesians 6 :10-18 we learn about the armor of God which has been given to us; not just for a one time, for the daily war we face. Be encouraged to not pray out of fear and reaction to the devil, but in response to the Holy Spirit and the authority we have been given in the name of Jesus.

The church collectively {that would be all of us} is called the body of Christ. And just a body has different parts to accomplish different tasks, I believe God created different women to conquer different enemies and lands in His kingdom.

There is so much power in staying in your lane and slaying your giants with the weapon you have been given. Do not let comparison steal your influence. Steward your gifts and serve your purpose well. Do not wish your life or seasons away; instead, put on your armor daily and grow through it.

There are two ways we see Wonder Woman fight in the movie. In the first half we see her fighting as Diana, the daughter of Hypolita; depending on the years of training and her own strength to fight her enemies. Yet in the second half we see her fighting as thee Wonder Woman, in the revelation that she is a goddess, daughter of Zeus; finally defeating the enemy and saving the world.

We can also choose to fight in our own strength and at some point we are going to need to hang up the cape because there is no where to draw new strength from. But when we fight out of a revelation that we are daughters of the Most High and Living God, our strength will come from Him, our Grace will come from him, the grace to carry out the hard things in life; there is nothing within your calling and His direction that you will not be able to accomplish.
We are called for the sake of others.

In the new movie Justice League movie,  Batman tells Wonder Woman “you’re an inspiration Diana, you don’t just save people, you make them see their better selves. Yet I never heard of you.” There are many of you that the world is still waiting to hear of, not for your sake, but because your calling is bigger than you and has everything to do with the impact you are meant to make in others and pointing them to Jesus.

God is not asking us to be the savior of the world. He is asking us to partner with the power of His Holy Spirit and the authority in the name of Jesus to conquer and heal our own lands. There we welcome the Father to plant seeds of purpose and dreams. We allow them to germinate, take roots, and nurture that seed. And out of that place will grow trees that bear enough fruit to overflow into the world and see His Kingdom come.

They are not waiting to see you for you, they are waiting to see Him in you. Because they are desperate for a touch from God

Some of you have done big things, and somewhere along the way, life has pushed the pause button on you. However, this is not your finale, the world is waiting on you:

Write that book, it’s hasn’t been written!

Sing that song, it hasn’t been sung!

Teach that message, it hasn’t been taught!

Lead those people, they’ve never been led!

Speak life and truth into those people, they’ve never felt worthy!

Host that dinner, they never get invited!

Give generously, your reward is in Him!

Go and set the world on fire, it is crying out for revival!

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:10-18
